Celebrate Harboring Hearts’ 15 Year Anniversary!

It's our Heart Anniversary! Harboring Hearts has provided hope to cardiac surgery and transplant patients since April 10th, 2009 when Founder, Michelle Javian, and Co-Founder, Yuki Kotani, met near NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia Hospital. Michelle was by her father’s side while he battled heart disease and transplant, meanwhile Yuki was waiting by her own father's side during his heart transplant. Seeing the lack of refuge present for patients and their families during hospitalization, these amazing women came together to create hope in Harboring Hearts.

Since 2009, we have expanded our programmatic services to assist cardiac surgery as well as cardiac, liver, and pediatric kidney transplant patients.

We have raised more than $6 million in funds supporting more than 2,500 patients and their families. We have provided more than 1,500 meals and snacks to caregivers while at the bedside of their loved ones, hosted over 7,500 people in our community events, and partnered with nearly 150 physicians and 100 social workers across 9 hospital partners.

With your help, we will continue to provide hope to families by way of emergency food, transportation, housing, and emotional support so they can focus on healing.

Thank you for giving hope to hearts everywhere!
