Meet Everlee!

On December 29, 2024, Everlee received the gift of life—a transplant at NYU Langone Children’s Hospital. The day before surgery, her mother arrived with her, knowing the next 24 hours would be life-changing. When the time came, the transplant took nine and a half hours. Sitting alone, waiting for updates, her mom describes the experience as “definitely scary,” but also filled with moments of comfort thanks to the compassionate doctors, nurses, and hospital staff who supported her every step of the way.

The surgery was only the beginning. In the weeks that followed, Everlee faced additional challenges, including two more surgeries to repair a bile leak. It was a long and emotional road, but at last, the complications were resolved.

A month and some days after the transplant, Everlee returned home—greeted by her loving older sisters and the warmth of her family. Today, she’s doing amazing, full of energy and spirit.

Throughout the hospital stay, support from the community made all the difference. Assistance with meals, transportation to appointments, and other essentials allowed Everlee’s mom to focus fully on her daughter’s care without worrying about the day-to-day logistics.

“I couldn’t be more blessed to have amazing people in her corner who truly care about us,” her mom shares. “You were there for us during the hardest moments, and that means everything.”

Everlee’s journey is one of courage, hope, and the incredible impact of compassion in action.
